Jardin
des Plantes
This garden was established in 1635 by Louis XIII as a medicinal herb garden.
It includes 11 different gardens which make it a unique place (alpine garden, ecological garden, roses, rocks… It even includes a maze!).
There is also a historical zoo, the Ménagerie du Jardin des Plantes, founded in 1795 (see zoos).
Open everyday: Summer: 7.30 am-8pm ; winter 8am-5.30pm.
How much? Jardin Alpin: 2€ (on week-ends and holidays),
Les Grandes Serres: 6€ or 4€,
Free for handicapped people and job-seekers.
Other gardens: free.
