The Parc de la Villette was built on old slaughterhouses and has become the greatest urban cultural park of Paris.
The 135 acres (86 acres outdoor) combine modern architecture and nature, and playgrounds for children and adults.
Relax: stroll around the Canal de l’Ourcq and enjoy the greenspace, basins and fountains.
Activities: Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie (museum of science and industry), the Géode (180° screen movie theater), the Zénith de Paris (a large concert venue) or the Musée de la musique (museum of music).
Events: the outdoor movie festival (in summer).
Open: everyday (closed 1am-6am).
